Q: What are the money questions in the new OASIS-C?
A: Although the payment items on OASIS-C have had numerical changes, the actual items used to calculate the PPS Four Equation Model have not changed. Table 2A, Case Mix Adjustment Variables and Scores released with the PPS reform of 2008 that included variables for payment items within the OASIS assessment and Four Equation Model has been re-named as Table 4, Clinical and Functional Scores within the file titled, Medicare Home Health Prospective Payment System Patient Classification Algorithm and released as part of the OASIS-C Grouper Software. The file is labeled HHRG_Overview_Jan2010.pdf and may be downloaded from the zip file posted on 11/20/09 and located here. Table 4 begins on page 10 and includes the PPS Four Equation Model with the new OASIS-C reference numbers.
We have posted this file in our resources section. It can be hard to locate online and it is an important file for home health organizations.
